One paper in the Journal of Psychopharmacology looked into the effective administration of CBD had on total sleep times and found that the total percentage of sleep significantly increased in the groups treated with 10 and 40 mg/kg of CBD compared to the placebo.
A study of the effect of CBD on those with anxiety and sleep complaints similarly found that sleep scores improved within the first month in two-thirds of patients.
More clinical research needs to be done in this area to determine the exact effect of CBD on sleep, but so far, the clinical evidence seems to point towards the fact that it may help at least some of the population.
In terms of people’s buying habits and CBD, a survey by CBD-intel found that sleep was the fifth most popular reason for using CBD in the UK, France and Germany.

CBD interacts with our endocannabinoid system, which is responsible for homeostasis in the body, so it is believed that it offers feelings of balance and calm due to the way it affects the body. It allows the body to release additional cannabinoids, ‘feel good’ molecules which are made naturally by the body when we are feeling relaxed.
